The VIPS
Today I attended a very important meeting with the seniors of our organisation. Mostly I just sit and listen and sometimes answer questions if my boss looks like she's dying. These meetings occur about 10 times a year and we discuss very important matters. My position in this organisation is a little above the middle if we are talking rates of pay- I am one level below my boss and my boss is 2 levels below her boss but many people fall below us (make sense? Good). Well back to the meeting, today for the first time the head made a comment about laying the cards on the table regarding an agreement our department has with another department in which we receive a fee for service. Basically they don't want to pay because they don't feel they are getting value for money. Now this is a reflection on us and basically our head said that if we loose this agreement our jobs may be on the line. Now this really pisses me off as I know I give at least 110%, 90% of the time and the people in our dept should recognise this and act accordingly not threaten the loss of jobs. Some people may be slackers but I kknow there is 2 of us working our guts out. So after the meeting I had a little rant to my boss and told her that it makes us feel like shit and there is no incentive to keep going and we may as well jump ship before we are pushed etc etc. So she goes up and tells her boss who notes it all down! So now I am probably known as the whinger! PISSED OFF
